About Us
The Mission of Portville Baptist Church is to "Glorify God" by reaching people with the
Gospel, building them in their relationship with God, and involving them in God's Plan.
We share the teachings of Jesus Christ and hopefully create a faith environment for the
nurturing of one's soul through an ever increasing closeness to God.
The precepts of our religion are based on our Articles of Faith and Baptist distinctives.
We manage the achievement of our church's goals and objectives through the
leadership within our church council.
Our Christian school is managed through a school leadership council that has members
from both the church council and our academic staff.
Our pastor, who guides our religious and faith development, is a member of both the
church and school leadership councils.
We are affiliated with the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches
(www.garbc.com) with its Articles of Faith that provide a within the broader Christian
community. We recognize the GARBC Constitution that establishes the parameters and
outlines the procedures for functioning as an Association and as being a member of
that Association.
